The first purchases do not look particularly impressive. Dipping Finger and Fry Cook are early helpers, but they change the way the game feels because donuts start appearing without every one of them being clicked manually. Once there are enough donuts coming in, bigger investments become possible.
Wheat Farm and Sugar Mine take the production much further. At that point, the original clicking routine becomes only part of the operation. There is something satisfying about leaving the game running for a while and coming back to see how much the total has jumped.
What Should Get the Next Upgrade?
The shop is where the simple clicking turns into a small numbers game. Ambidextrous can make clicking more useful, while Farmer's Almanac and Plastic Mouse offer other ways to improve production. Plain Donuts can also increase the efficiency of the bakery.
There is no single purchase that always feels right. Sometimes another building makes sense. Other times, an upgrade can give the existing setup a bigger boost. Watching the cost of the next item slowly come within reach gives the game its familiar one more purchase feeling.
Do Not Miss the Golden Donuts
Every so often, a Golden Donut appears and breaks up the normal routine. Clicking one can trigger a powerful temporary bonus, so it is worth keeping an eye on the screen instead of simply letting the automated buildings run.
That is really the charm of Donut Clicker. It takes an ordinary click and keeps adding another reason to make it. One donut becomes dozens, then thousands, and eventually the original click feels like it happened in another game entirely.
